Genuine Clipsal metal half saddle for fixing 20mm conduit. Hot dip galvanised steel, so it holds up outdoors, in coastal air and in industrial environments where a plastic clip would perish or a plain steel one would rust. 20mm is the most commonly used size.
Plastic clips are fine indoors and out of the sun. Hot dip galvanised saddles are what you want outdoors, in plant rooms, near the coast, or anywhere the run is exposed to weather, heat or knocks. The galvanising is applied by dipping in molten zinc, which coats every surface including the cut edges.
Fix at regular intervals along the run so the conduit does not sag between saddles. Electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician.
