Clipsal no longer make the vertical Classic switch, which leaves a lot of homes with no matching replacement. Flat Cat fits the same 84mm mounting centres and gives a very close match, so a single failed switch does not mean replating a whole wall.
Mechanism compatibility
Flat Cat plates take Trader Meerkat MESW mechanisms, including TV and data, and Clipsal 30 Series style mechanisms and accessories. That makes them useful where you need a data or TV outlet to match the switch plates already on the wall.
